PING—A Celebrated Name in the Arizona Community

The Arizona Manufacturer’s Council (AMC) announced PING as Manufacturer of the Year and Universal Avionics as outstanding small manufacturer. Both companies were honored at a luncheon at the end of May at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort.

Lady Sun Devil Golfers Bring Home the Gold

Arizona State University head women’s golf coach Melissa Luellen has been honored as the National Coach of the Year by the National Golf Coaches Association following her team’s victory in the NCAA Championship in late May. Luellen was also honored as the West Region Coach of the year and was named Pac-10 Conference Coach of the Year for the third time in the last four years.

The Arizona Golf Association (AGA) launched their all new Mid-Am Series in early May and it will run thru September. These are one-day, 18-hole events for amateurs 25 and older. There will be three events in June, one in July, two in August and the finale will take place at Desert Forest Golf Club in September.

The end result of this process creates more air space and promotes deeper rooting, which promotes grass health.
