Three time NCAA Player of the Year at Duke and Scottsdale native Amanda Blumenherst announced she has officially turned professional.

Blumenherst, 22, graduated magna cum laude from Duke earlier this month and signed with IMG at the conclusion of her senior golf season.

Blumenherst, winner of the 2008 U.S. Women’s Amateur, will make her pro debut June 11-14 in the Michelob Ultra Duramed Futures Players Championship. Later this month, she will make her LPGA Tour debut as a pro June 25-28 in the Wegmans LPGA.

With five LPGA events under her belt as an amateur, she hopes to earn enough money playing on exemptions the rest of this season to secure a tour card for next year and avoid the LPGA Qualifying Tournament.
