University of Arizona names Laura Ianello as head coach.

The Wildcats have named Laura Ianello as head coach of the women’s golf team on Wednesday of this week.  Shelly Haywood, who had coached the team for the past three seasons, is ready to step down from the team.

Alumni of UofA, Ianello had already been running the team when Haywood, had to leave for personal time.  She had played three seasons for the Wildcats and was a member of three Pac 10 championship teams that reigned from 2000 to 2003.

Ianello, who was the assistant coach of the program for the past three seasons, is pending confirmation from the Arizona Board of Regents.
